ACTION-Stop Yellowstone Buffalo Slaughter

It happens every winter.  Buffalo head down from Yellowstone in search of food.  They are chased and hazed back into the park where food is scarce, or they are killed.

This all came about from a very exaggerated fear that these iconic animals will spread disease to livestock.  Their environment and habitat has been cut to a fraction of what it once was and they have been hunted almost to extinction.  Can’t we just leave them be?

What is more symbolic of the frontier history of the United States than the wild horse and the buffalo?  The Yellowstone buffalo are the few remaining descendants of the herds that once roamed the grasslands of this country.  They deserve better treatment than this.

Please sign the letter to Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar.  Tell the government to find a better way to treat the Yellowstone buffalo herd.

Thank you for all you do for animals and the environment.

ACTION-Speak Out for Wild Horses!

Wild horses on open range

The government currently has more mustangs in their holding pens and pastures than remain free roaming on the ranges of our country.

This one fact alone should make you want to speak out for wild horses.  They were never meant to be locked in holding pens.  Mustangs are born to be what they are – wild horses.

These iconic animals are a symbol of the United States and are recognized all over the world.  They represent freedom and individuality.  I would dare say they are as much a symbol of America and the American spirit as the Bald Eagle.  Yet now our own Bureau of Land Management is pursuing a round up policy that threatens to drive the free roaming mustang to extinction.

Take action by phoning the White House to let them know how you feel.  Instructions on how to call and information on the wild mustang are included at this page.

-OR-

Take action by sending an e-mail to President Obama at the White House. A form for your e-mail can be found at this page.

Please take a stand for our beautiful wild horses and help them stay free.  This in no way negates management of the wild herds.  It is to make sure the management doesn’t eliminate them.

Thank you for all you do for animals and the environment.

ACTION-Protect Idaho Wildlife

Pronghorn Antelope

The sagebrush steppes of Southern Idaho are home to many forms of wildlife.  Pronghorn, sage grouse,  the American kestrel are just three of the diverse species who call this area home.

Now energy development and off-road-vehicles are threatening the environment of these animals.  The Wilderness Society would like people to speak up for this environment and the animals who live there.

Please take a moment to send a letter to The Bureau of Land Management telling them to protect the wildlife and their habitat in this area.  It is easy to do, the letter is already written.  Edit the letter as you wish, sign it and with one click it will go to the BLM to let them know your feelings on this matter.

Wildlife and habitat conservation is not only for us and some flora and fauna.  It is for future generations.  We must preserve as much as we can of our pristine wilderness before it disappears forever.

Click here to go to the letter you can send.  It is sponsored by The Wilderness Society.

Thank you for all you do for animals and the environment.

Thank You
